Global Culinary Traditions Project: Preserving Culture Through Stories and Recipes in Ramadan

I’ve decided to do something different this Ramadan, something that would help preserve traditional recipes from around the world and allow all of you dear readers to share your stories and your recipes with us here at this special time. I’m calling it the Ramadan 2022 Global Culinary Traditions Project (use hashtag #myhalalkitchengctp on social media). See below for instructions on how to submit your traditions to be shared.

If you have a story that goes along with a recipe that is meaningful to you and demonstrates how a particular tradition within a culture is preserved, please consider submitting it to My Halal Kitchen to be included in this year’s first Ramadan 2022 Global Culinary Traditions Project.

To make it simple but clear, I have jus a few simple rules. Please read them before submitting to: contact@myhalalkitchen.com, as your submission means that you’ve granted us the right to publish, print and share your content throughout this website and all associated social media and newsletter channels.

  1. The content (i.e. recipe and/or story) must be yours OR you must have consent to use and share.
  2. The recipe must be previously tested, edited and written for an American audience (i.e. measurements, use of fahrenheit vs. celsius), but you may additionally include European measurements.
  3. The content must contain at least one photo of the finished recipe item. A maximum of 5 photos can be included in your submission.
  4. All content must be received by April 15, 2022.
