Creamy Spinach Dip

Spinach Dip | My Halal Kitchen

The last article I posted was about how to put together and decorate a beautiful ‘Eid appetizer table and I hope you were inspired by the tips and ideas for serving ware and the quick and easy foods you can offer your guests. One of the dishes mentioned still needs a recipe to go along with it, so here it is: Creamy Spinach Dip. It’s so quick to make and can be served with raw vegetables, baked pita chips, and more.

pour into gravy boat

Start with about 1-2 cups whole milk yogurt

yogurt for spinach dip

add equal parts sour cream

add the sour cream

then grab some cleaned, dry, fresh spinach

Prep to Chop the Spinach

and chop it to pieces

chop the spinach

then add it on top of the yogurt and sour cream

add the spinach

mix it in and add some salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

stir the spinach into the cream

Pour it all into a serving dish. Gravy bowls work great for this because your guests can simply pour it onto their appetizers and plates easily. Creamy Spinach Dip Keep this recipe in your party and entertaining stash of dishes. No more need for packets of seasonings or pre-made anything. This is as easy as it gets and so very fresh. I’m sure your guests will tell you the same, insha’allah. Serves 10-12 small portions per person Ingredients

2 cups whole milk yogurt 2 cups whole milk sour cream 2 cups fresh chopped spinach sea salt, to taste freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Directions In a small or medium bowl, combine the yogurt and sour cream. Clean and dry the spinach very well. Chop the spinach and add to the yogurt/sour cream mixture. Mix well. Add the seasonings and mix again. Pour into serving bowl and serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

  1. Wow, I’ve never seen a recipe for spinach dip that didn’t use wilted (slightly cooked) spinach. I like the sound of your fresh version infinitely better!

  2. I read your last article and was wondering if you’d give us the recipe. I loooove spinach dip and eat it regularly at school. This is so easy I can make it in little time while I’m at college. Now I can enjoy it fresh and make tons as opposed to buying it ready made. Thank you!
