Add chopped dates

One of the easiest things  you can do to a salad to spruce it up is to add something surprisingly sweet. I love chopped dates in my salads, especially around the end of summer and early fall when things like pears and apples are in season. They pair so beautifully with the chewy sweetness of dates and are delicious topped with a simple dressing of olive oil and vinegar or a creamy buttermilk one.
