Royal Dates Sukkari, Ajwa and Saggae Grab ‘n Go Giveaway [CLOSED]

Dates are the most popular food we ever discuss during Ramadan, and for good reason. Not only are they a sunnah food, but they’re the perfect food to eat when breaking the fast as they help our bodies rise in blood sugar levels in a safe and moderate way, which also helps us ease into eating other foods following them.

We’re fortunate to have recently learned about Royal Dates, a Canadian company bringing a variety of wonderful dates to the U.S. You can read more about them here.

In addition to the giveaway described below, you’re also able to purchase them in our newly launched MHK Market by My Halal Kitchen.

They have Ajwa dates, considered to be the “King of Dates” (500grams). Did you know that a new research suggests Ajwa dates prevent cancer? New research says it has found evidence that the Ajwa date from Madinah contains active elements useful in the prevention of diseases like cancer. The research was carried out in Riyadh-based King Saud University (KSU) to discover the health benefits of Ajwa dates, which resulted in the finding that the fruit has anti-inflammatory properties similar to commercially available drugs like ibuprofen and aspirin. Read more about that study here

Ramadan Sale Price is $30 USD for Ajwa Dates (compare to $35.99 USD)

Sukkari dates are considered the “Queen of Dates” (500 grams), known for their dessert-like sweetness, Sukkari is the perfect alternative to sugary treats. Golden and soft, this melt-in-your-mouth goodness is a Royal Dates family favorite.

Ramadan sale price is $22 USD for Sukkari Dates (compare to $25 USD)

And lastly, the very convenient Saggae Grab ‘n Go Dates

Ramadan special is $15 USD for Saggae Grab n Go Dates

They’re also what people call a “superfood” nowadays…but we already knew that, right? See the video below for more details.

  1. Ramadan Mubarak!!!! Not only is Date a Ramadan staple it is one of my homes all 365 staple food.we all try to have it daily. My daughter who goes to Montessori took dates once as a special snack to share at her school and since then dates has been one of their special food too:)) guess what we gifted her teacher as ramadan gift? Dates!!!!! we got a chance to try all above dates when we went to dubai last year and since then we have been trying to get an assortment of these dates…..will we great if we cud win one inshallah!!!!

  2. Being anemic and vitamin B deficient, I try more and more each year to incorporate nutrition-infused foods, especially during Ramadan. I’ve realized that supplements don’t compare to eating nutritious food and dates are no exception. I’ve introduced the benefit of eating dates daily to my coworkers and friends and hope to continue this sunnah for the years to come. So winning this assortment would be pretty awesome!

  3. Assalamu’alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Ramadan Mubarak! Thank you for the delicious offer, and I will gladly take it for this reason: I’ve been looking to get healthy this Ramadan as a start—a step in the change I desire for myself. I believe healthy eating (and living!) comes from the best of mankind himself and the glorious Qur’an. Dates are the perfect way to start this journey. Not only can you munch on them straight from the container, but they can also be manipulated into smoothies and as a sugary substitute. Mash’Allah, I’ve already finished one fast with a date and can’t wait for this new brand’s flavor if chosen (in sha Allah!).

    Your sister in peace,

  4. Ramadan Mubarak, everyone! This Ramadan find my family spending the holiday with my parents. They’ve been gracious enough to open their home to us, and I would love the opportunity to share and spread some Ramadan cheer for them, as they are not (yet) Muslim. What better way to share than with dates? Maybe by showing the beauty of Ramadan, their hearts will be turned towards this path. Thank you.

  5. Asalaam Alaikum
I would enjoy the health benefits of the variety, to educate yourself and your family on the different types available, and to share with neighbors who may have never had this type of date before.

  6. Ramadaan Kareem … Alhumdulillah my 8 yr old twin girls started fasting along with their 10 yr old brother this Ramadaan . I would be very happy to get different varieties of dates for them .

  9. Salaam!
Dates , the most amazing fruit!
It nourishes the body and soul.
The staple of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w).
Having it , especially at Iftaar, brings on a burst of energy after a day long fast.
Dates are an all-in-one super food.
If only they were available year round , where i live……..

  10. Ramadan Mubarak!!!

I am newly converted to Islam and my husband was raised in it. I didn’t even know their was different types of dates! I would love to try all of them! My husband ALWAYS eats it and tells me stories about the prophets eating dates all the time. Please pick my family so we can enjoy them together at our table.

    Thank you
    Jessica Alkassar

  11. As Salaam Alaikum Ramadan Mubarak. We eat dates year round(in desserts, just plain, in smoothies etc) Today we are trying the banana date cups

  12. Assalamu alaykum! My husband and I love eating dates, and our young son always wants one whenever he sees the box of dates. I saw the banana date cup recipe and can’t wait to try it out!

  13. Assalamualaikum!

Loved the awesome dates info given on this post! I did not know about Ajwa having cancer prevention ability! Would love to have some at home.

    Barakallah Feekum

  14. That video itself was informative! I grew up in a Hispanic American home, my husband African American and are both converts to Islam. Our daughter has just developed the pallets for Medjool. We have had the experience of tea and dates at strangers’ homes; what we may be given at the masjid before Iftar and the small package at the checkout counter at the Halal store. I’d love to explore the varieties with guidance from Date connoisseurs! I have chronic pain and knowing that dates have anti inflammatory properties explains why I have been craving them!!!

  15. ASAK and Ramadan Mubarak! I have LOVED al-Ajwa dates ever since my parents brought some back from when they did Hajj mA! What a delicious and healthy little treat! It is wonderful how many of us who are not in the Middle East can now enjoy these tasty treats in our own countries because of some distributors making them accessible – Jazak Allah!

  16. Asak I never enjoyed eating dates as a child. Slowly my parents started telling me their hajj stories like Prophet Mohammed pbuh favorite is Ajwa dates. How he planted and how healthy they are. They have seen the place where he planted Ajwa dates tree with his hands. Slowly my dad removed from box a khajoor they gave me to try. I still remember that day. Know I devour when ever I see Ajwa dates.

  17. Whether starting our day or breaking our fast, my children and I try to eat 3-5 dates each day. The fiber they contain and the energy they produce help us tremendously. The current box that is open on our kitchen table are the Ajwa dates. We tend to try a different kind as we finish each box, just as a matter of variety and taste. During Ramadan I love making my traditional date cake using the Sukkari dates. I can say with certainty that I have never had a bad date 😉

  18. Asalaamualaikum and Ramadan Mubarak! Thank you so much for giving us an opportunity to taste these different variety of delicious dates. I have always loved finding and trying the different Prophetic foods and dates are one of my favorites. Ramadan is just not the same without opening your fast with one of these tasty fruits. It is really hard to find a good ajwa date here in the U.S. I would really like to win and try the ajwa dates as well the other ones. JazakAllahkhairun again for the opportunity.

  19. Asalaamualaikum!!! I love dates but Ive never had these types of dates. This would be super awesome to share. Thanks for the entry.

  20. Assalawalaikum Sister, Ramadan Mubarak!! I love Dates , they are my all time favorite. As my mom always share the facts about it ..such as , she mentions me that, The Messenger (Sallallaahu Álayhi Wasallam) also said, “Ajwa dates are from paradise.”And “If somebody takes some ‘Ajwa dates every morning, he will not be effected by poison or magic on that day till night.” All these stories and facts inspired me to eat dates on regular basis.

  21. Ajwa reminds me of Rasul Allah (SAW) and the Holy City. This is the best variety of date to have, always! Sukkari is a memory from Makkah tul Mukarramah. These khajoors carry a much higher value than any fruit. If they are sourced from the Haramain Shareefain, then what else is left to say?

  22. Salam alaikum, what an awesome giveaway. I love dates, and enjoy trying different kinds, as I never knew there were so many different ones. I would love to share these kinds with my kids after fasting and enjoy the health benefits. I’ve never had fresh dates before, that would be a treat!

  23. Ramadan Kareem! Dates, we love them. I love that they have health benefits and, of course, besides taste that would be the other major reason that my family should and do eat them.

  24. Ramadan Mubarak! I like to eat dates year round especially in oatmeal or with yogurt. The variety of dates Royal Dates offers is very nice. I would definitely like to try the different types of dates for their health benefits. I would also like to share them with my non-Muslim neighbor who is learning about Ramadan too.

  25. Pregnant and the only thing I can stomach and benefit from in sha Allah is dates alhamdolilah. It must have for me specially during third trimester in sha Allah 🙂

  26. I feel satisfied & a happy parent when my child eats his date even if he skips meal or try to be picky dates and milk and the way to go for us alhamdolilah. We blend milk avocado and 3-7 dates and he loves it. Thank you for the giveaway the benefit of dates are awesome alhamdolilah

  27. Asalam alaykum and Ramadan Mubarak everyone. Being a revert Muslim I’m really new at eating dates…and I’m so excited to try more types and varieties. Thank you for this offer. My small son loves them to and we put a pat of butter in each one. Ya Allah so good. We love dates and feel so happy following the sunnah as well. Jazak Allah khayer

  28. Assalamu alaikum. Ramadan Mubarak to all my fellow brothers and sisters in faith. I would love to win these dates so that I may try the different types. In sha Allah. I never ate dates before my reversion to Islam two years ago. Alhamdulillah. I love the sweetness of them, and use them in different dishes. They truly are a superfood and the perfect way for me to break my fast each day. Masha Allah to whoever wins these.

  29. Assalamu-Alaikum, Ramadaam Kareem to the Muslim Ummah.

  31. Asalaam Aliquem, Ramadan Mubarak.

As a child I grew up eating dates, simply because of their decadent flavor. As an adult, I continue to enjoy them for their taste plus after learning about the immense health benefits a tiny date provides (High in Potassium–gives an energy boost), I like to enjoy it knowing it’s good for me. Throughout Ramadan, I like to serve dates in variety of ways i.e. sprinkled with dry shredded coconut, or stuffed with almonds. Good luck to everyone. Thank you.

  32. I love dates, but wasn’t aware of the different varieties. I’d like to try them and see what each has to offer.

  33. As salamu alaikum w rahmat Allah w barakaat
