Jennifer McGruther’s is one of my favorite bloggers. She’s so interested in cooking simple, wholesome and traditional foods that it’s hard not to find something you’d like to make on her blog and now her cookbook the Nourished Kitchen. It is a testament to a traditional foods lifestyle from virtually every global culture. Jennifer McGruther’s wonderful recipes use pure and minimally processed ingredients, which you might already know that I’m a huge fan of. Her book and her work in general promotes a wholesome and sustainable lifestyle. Featuring beautiful pictures, the book reads like a narrative you’ll want to read and browse before making a list of all the recipes you’ll want to try- maybe even something that your grandmother used to make.
Recipes in the Nourished Kitchen are categorized by origin of the main ingredient (from the range, from the pasture, etc.) and range in level of difficulty, so in essence there is something for every type of cook, especially the adventurous one who simply wants to cook from scratch and learn what it really means to eat a whole foods diet.
Original and refreshing, this cookbook will inspire you to cook at home often and may even boost your confidence as a cook. It’s ideal for anyone wanting to live a healthy lifestyle by showing that where your food comes from really does matter. Jennifer McGruther captures the essence of her blog wonderfully, so if you’re already a fan, this cookbook will not disappoint. You can keep up with more of Jenny’s recipes by ‘liking’ Nourished Kitchen here on Facebook.
