Modern Muslim Home: An Artful, Beautiful Giveaway

I stumbled upon Modern Muslim Home online a while ago and instantly realized how beautiful their work was–and that it should be sold in stores like Home Goods, Kohl’s and Target- you know, those stores we all shop at but might not choose some of the hanging decor with inspirational quotes simply because we’re looking for something more, well, Islamic in nature?

Trust in Allah | Modern Muslim Home

While I was at the Halal Food Tour in Teaneck, NJ last month, I saw that Mona Hameed, the co-founder of the company actually had a booth at the event. We wanted to meet but were each so busy we couldn’t connect until afterwards, which is when we decided to showcase their work and offer you something special for Eid, as well. Below, Mona describes Modern Muslim Home for us and what inspired her to get started to make some of the most beautiful and thoughtful pieces of home decor available for the, well, , modern Muslim home…

Three Days | Modern Muslim Home

When I first got married and moved into my own place, I realized how much I loved decorating my home and making it my own. What was challenging for me, however, was finding Islamic home decor that would mesh well with the rest of my house. I loved browsing through the wall decor at places like Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Home Goods, full of cute and inspirational quotes, but could never find anything Islamic that was equivalent in style or quality.

This was our inspiration for Modern Muslim Home. Our wall hangings feature verses from the Qur’an, sayings of the Prophet (peace be upon him), quotes from companions of the Prophet (peace be upon them) and famous Muslim scholars, as well as just sweet, inspirational sayings for any American Muslim home.

We believe that Islamic art should have a purpose that goes beyond aesthetics, and that’s why we generally focus on presenting Islamic reminders in a language our audience can understand- English. This way, you can have something on your wall that not only looks beautiful, but increases your faith each time you look at it.

Alhamdulillah, we’re thrilled by the response we’ve gotten. Muslims from all over the U.S. have ordered from our website and given us great feedback on how well our items have fit into their living rooms, children’s nurseries, kitchens, and even laundry rooms! Our products introduce practicality to Islamic art, as well as a familiarity. Modern Muslim Home’s style is more like something you’d find at an American home decor store than something you’d find overseas. Our products are primarily for English-speaking Muslims who are looking for home decor that facilitates a more God-conscious environment for them and their families.

This will be placed in our living room iA as that is where we spend most of our time.

  5. I love the Divine Collection. Such beautiful reminders that would go perfectly in our “prayer room”!

  6. I love and honor the Expiation of your sins! My family loosing our beloved son Abdallahy when he was six months old. I remember my husband saying to me Wa inna lilahi wa inna lilahi rajioon (We came from Allah and to Allah we return.) and he also said to me as I cried honey don’t cry because Allah will give to you again as Allah Swt is most generous!
So I would love and honor the wall hanging in my home.

  7. Trust in Allah with all your heart is my favorite, it’s something I try my best to instill in my children. I have been tested many times in life and had I not trusted with all of my heart I would not be where I am today, Alhumdulillah! I would hang this in my livingroom! Thanks for having this giveaway!

  11. I like my children and a marriage prayer

  12. Asalaamualikum,
I love the ‘Dirty Dishes’ item and I would put it up in my kitchen so that every time my family and I sit down for a meal we remember not to waste food.
    Thank You.

  13. I love the piece called “You Lord’s Blessings” — Surah Ar Rahman is one of my favorite surahs to read and contemplate.

  14. Love them all, specifically the children one having been brought up in a different culture it’s at times hard to see eye to eye with your children on a lot of matters so when such days befall us I would like my kids to know that Allah is with them and also at the same time a gentle reminder that we love them no matter what!!

  15. I love them and I would especially like trust in Allah with all your heart. Its a great reminder. It would look great in my family room.

  22. I like the “if you were to count the favors of Allah” (3rd picture on this page)..beautiful messages on all of them.thank you for the contest

  23. Assalaamu Alaikum, I love “the world is three days” wall art. I’ve been living in my new home for 2 years and there is a long wall that I’ve been searching for the perfect art. This one will be perfect for that wall!

  24. I love the one that says “Trust in Allah with all your heart”. I think it encompasses so much and will go well anywhere in my home

  25. I adore ‘The Favors of Allah’. It would fit perfectly in my Quran corner!

  26. The Favors of Allah (they are ALL AAH-MAZING MashAllah, it’s really hard to choose!) would go so beautifully in my living room. Your above description epitomizes the exact feeling I have everytime I walk into Kohl’s, Ross, or any consignment décor shop as I do love to decorate my house with inspirational and contemporary styles yet I always am left feeling short by the limitations of not having something that speaks to the immense inspirations found in our faith. It’s nice to have Arabic items which I do, but nothing speaks to the American Muslim identity like this does AND modern! I really hope I win this. I have a teenager who has a few more years before he’s off to college and I really would love to have this ‘visual’ in my home to really solidify all that I’ve tried to instill all these years. It would really be wonderful for my 8 year old too who is just in that age of wondrous awe and full of questions. Jazakum Allah khayran regardless for sharing and I wish both you and Modern Muslim Home much success. :)

  27. A frame with an ayah of the Quran in the salah room would be beautiful.

  28. I adore the “Favors of Allah” picture, and I would definitely hang it in my living room. Great giveaway! MashaAllah

  29. In my family room !!

  30. The landscape “favors of Allah” is my favorite. Simple and profound. I would put it in my bedroom until I get my own place. Beautiful!

Thanks for all these great giveaways, btw ! :)

  31. I love the Marriage prayer artwork. I just moved into my own place and the walls are bare. So this would be the perfect artwork to put up in my master bedroom!

  32. My favorite two are the marriage prayer and the favors of Allah.

  33. I would definitely get “Joys of Fasting” and put it up in my dining room! Very beautiful mA

  34. I loved all of their artwork and it was hard to chose one. My most favorite is Seeking Refuge (Prophetic Collection). It is one of my favorite duas and wold love to hang it in my living room so I am reminded of it every time I look at it, especially after a really trying or exhausted day.

  35. I love the calamities, this is something that I have come to realize and Alhumdulillah it helps me get through bad situations and realize that these are what Allah want and are good for me

  36. I love the Allah poster, I just got a new apartment and I think it will bring a new look and also so many prayers for my house, It would look awesome.

  37. Beautiful artwork. My all time favorite one is the favors of Allah. I would hang it by my front door literally everyday as i leave I can see and thankAllah for all my blessings which obviously we could thank him forever and it still wouldnt be enough. To come home and pass by this frame would truly make me realuse I should thank Allah again as I enter my hone.

  38. “Home” :) So simple, so powerful!

  39. I love the favors of Allah, I’d place it my kitchen to remind ourselves of the best food, water n shelter Allah hu Talla has given us. I always look for reasonably priced Islamic art work for my house, usually the good ones r always expensive for us. :( inshallah I’ll win some. :) jazakallah khair.

  40. I love the marriage dua as I feel Nikah works the greatest of miracles that effect our lives every day–uniting diversity, bringing solace in these harsh times, instilling patience the fruit of which is longlasting piety in the upcoming generation engendering scholars, scientists, soldiers….endless hope for the life of this world and the next! I would place it near the prayer area in my bedroom!
